Voice Technologies is appointed as a Framework Agreement Supplier by NHS SBS

Posted on November 12, 2025

Voice Technologies has, once again, been appointed as a supplier on NHS Shared Business Services’ (NHS SBS) Digital Dictation, Speech Recognition and Outsourced Transcription 2 Framework Agreement.

This appointment is recognition of our collaboration and innovation with NHS Trusts and Boards for over 20 years, which has led directly to significant time and cost savings in the creation and distribution of clinical documentation.

How can the Framework Agreement help NHS customers?

The NHS and wider public sector continue to face mounting pressures from high volumes of clinical documentation, increasing administrative workloads, and the urgent need to modernise outdated processes. These challenges can hinder efficiency, delay care delivery, and place additional strain on already stretched workforces.

The Digital Dictation, Speech Recognition and Outsourced Transcription 2 Framework Agreement has been developed to directly address these issues. It offers a compliant, streamlined route to procure digital dictation, speech recognition and transcription services that reduce administrative burden and improve workflow efficiency.

By enabling access to innovative solutions from Voice Technologies, the framework agreement empowers organisations to enhance productivity while maintaining alignment with NHS and Government standards and the drive for digital transformation.

James McPherson, Chief Executive Officer at Voice Technologies, said: "Our appointment by NHS SBS builds on our 20 years of commitment to provide technology that eases the administrative burden on clinicians and admin teams and, in doing so, contributes to improving patient outcomes.

“Through our trusted clinical workflow apps that offer compliant, healthcare-specialised AI infrastructure, we are bringing groundbreaking efficiency to healthcare professionals across the UK.”

Phil Wood, Principal Category Manager, Digital & IT at NHS SBS added: “The Digital Dictation, Speech Recognition and Outsourced Transcription 2 Framework Agreement provides solutions which are designed to support key NHS priorities to increase day-to-day operational efficiencies and support the reduction in wait lists. The scope of the Lots was designed to allow for the adoption of emerging technology as the framework agreement matures, and as new technology within speech recognition is made available.

“Developments and innovations within the market are already adopting AI to take digitisation one step further and enable automated processes to go from the speech of a clinician and automatically populate patient letters or update patient records. The framework agreement allows for the introduction of new technologies during its lifecycle, which will allow the framework agreement to make the most of these exciting new developments.”
